Having a tour around the showroom is always an experience, always something new to be learnt. And if you are buying something it is an even better experience (obviously). With that in mind I always like looking around the showroom, especially when we have some new products in. So the Neff Slide&Hide was my product of the week. Now people have been shouting about this product for a while and rightly so. Especially after its appearance on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ recently. The Slide&Hide is an oven with a disappearing door which is completely unique to Neff. The actual access to the oven cavity is uninhibited making it much safer and easier to use (just what we need when we are busy cooking).

The Slide&Hide is the perfect product for those hands on cooks or simply for those who love making a Sunday roast on a, well on a Sunday. The disappearing door (which tucks away so smoothly) allows flexible cooking enabling you to baste, taste and monitor your food easily and fuss free during the cooking process. It’s stylish and innovative design makes a great focal point in the kitchen and the way the door disappears looks really impressive – I thought so anyway!

If your kitchen is short of space don’t worry, the Slide&Hide provides a great space saving solution, so less trip ups or near miss accidents. Well over the oven door anyway, can’t guarantee anything else. By removing a hot oven door from your kitchen equation, you are eliminating the chance of burning your hands or arms by accidental contact (great for all us clumsy cooks). With better access to the oven cavity, it’s also easier to lift out heavy or large items (those massive joints of meat on a Sunday) avoiding the dangers of drops or spills. I know you are impressed by this already, but there is more.

All Slide&Hide doors come with Neff’s ergonomically designed revolution handle. The bevelled steel handle rotates forward smoothly as the door opens, remaining fully functional and accessible as it tucks away beneath the oven. So the awkward wrist and hand movements are at a minimum when opening and closing the door.

The oven almost cleans itself

The newest feature to be added to the Slide&Hide is ‘Pyrolytic technology’. Pyrolytic technology makes scrubbing the oven a thing of the past. When activating the Pyrolytic self cleaning cycle, high temperatures of up to an impressive 485°C turn roasting, baking and grilling grease and spatter into ash. Once the oven has cooled you can simply wipe away the ash with a cloth. And that ladies and gentlemen is pretty much it. Great right? I mean who wouldn’t want an oven to practically clean itself after you’ve spent hours cooking. Sounds good to me. The Slide&Hide with Pyrolytic technology offers an impressive 71 litre capacity, CircoTherm technology and 12 cooking functions.

CircoTherm technology means easier cooking all in one go. You can cook a three course meal all at the same time with multi-level cooking and better still, have no transferred flavours across dishes. This gives you better cooking results due to even heat transference through the oven capacity and no heat loss when opening the door. Now let’s get a little technical with it. CircoTherm works simply by drawing air in from the oven via a very powerful fan. It then heats up the air and forces it back into the oven cavity through strategically placed ducts in the rear wall. Due to this circulation of the hot air, the oven reaches its desired temperature much quicker than your average oven and cooks the food evenly throughout. This saves time and energy as very little or no preheating is required.

Because the hot air is focused directly onto the food being cooked the heat is evenly distributed on shelf positions 1, 3 and 4. Shelf position 2 however will have lower temperatures, this enables you to have all your food cooked for the same time. With that in mind a three course meal can be cooked at the same time on the 3 shelf levels without the flavours intermingling. So for example, a nice baked apple pie and big chicken joint with goose fat potatoes can be in the same oven at one time with no taste conflictions. Sounds good to me, in fact it’s making me hungry just thinking about it. As the temperatures are lower, there is less spitting and splashing from foods with CircoTherm, making the oven much easier to clean too. But Pyrolytic technology would sort that for you anyway so no worries there.

All you Sunday dinner fans listen up. CircoTherm is great for roasting because of the way and speed at which the heat is delivered resulting in quickly sealed roasts. Therefore, juices are retained, producing less shrinkage and moist succulent joints. Making family celebratory roasts even more enjoyable – leaving you known as ‘top chef’ thanks to your amazing latest oven technology. If you normally grill meats, that can be a thing of the past with CircoTherm as there is no need to turn usually grilled foods such as fish, burgers, steaks etc as the air circulates around them providing an even cooking result. The Neff Slide&Hide definitely gives you a cooking experience you’ve never had before.

I would be surprised if you don’t find the Neff Slide&Hide impressive, I mean who wouldn’t want a self cleaning, multi level cooking oven that makes cooking an even better experience than ever before. It also makes a great addition to any kitchen, and looks incredibly stylish and very on trend. At Appliance city we have the Slide&Hide Pyrolytic single door ovens in stock and with quick delivery.
